Package No. 2 : Opinel Day

Meet our guide at 10 a.m. in the hamlet of Gevoudaz, the birthplace of Opinel, and set off to discover the iconic sites associated with the Savoyard knife.

A footpath will lead you to the remains of the workshop where Joseph Opinel forged his first knife in 1890, then on to his family home and his first factory. Equipped with an audiophone, you can listen to our guide's comments and anecdotes along the way.

Back in your vehicle, the itinerary continues with the discovery of the largest Opinel knife in the world, bearing witness to Opinel's lasting imprint on the Maurienne landscape.

Une pause gourmande vous attend ensuite au Musée Opinel, autour d’un savoureux casse-croûte savoyard mêlant charcuteries artisanales, fromages locaux et assortiment de crudités, suivi d’un café accompagné d’une douceur.

A guided tour of the Opinel Museum is the perfect way to round off your immersion in the world of this now legendary expertise.
