A knife made from beech wood and stainless steel.
From N°02 to N°13, the stainless steel pocketknives are composed of a varnished beech wood handle, the Opinel wood, and a Yatagan stainless steel blade, with a slightly raised tip. These materials ensure the pocketknives are extremely tough. The folding knives N°06, N°07, N°08, N°09, N°10, N°12 and N°13 feature a Virobloc safety ring which makes it possible to secure the blade in an open or closed position. They can be personalised.

More than 130 years ago in the village of Gevoudaz in the Savoie region, Joseph Opinel invented the pocketknife that now bears his name. The company, still run by the Opinel family, manufactures products ranging from small pocket tools for DIY and other activities, to kitchen and table knives or gardening tools, in Chambéry in the heart of the Alps.
