Vivian Bruchez, mountain guide

The mountains have taught me that the finest projects are those that have meaning.

My name is Vivian Bruchez, I am a mountain guide and steep-slope skier. I live in the Chamonix Mont-Blanc valley; that’s where I was born and where I grew up. The sheer verticality of the mountains around my home naturally shaped my vision as a skier.

I was trained in competitive alpine skiing. I subsequently spent many years coaching at the Argentière Sports Club as an alpine skiing coach. I then broadened my professional horizons by joining the National School of Skiing and Mountaineering (ENSA), where I lead courses for ski instructors specialising in off-piste skiing.

The Alps as a creative horizon

For over 20 years, I have dedicated my life to steep-slope skiing, driven by a desire to explore new routes and open up new lines. The Alps are my preferred playground, a space where I can fully express my vision of skiing.

My latest project illustrates this commitment: climbing and skiing all 82 peaks over 4,000 metres in the Alps. A first, representing the culmination of years of passion, experience and exploration, and the fullest expression of the skiing I love.

A meaningful commitment

Working with Opinel means partnering with a brand with which I deeply share the same values: family, simplicity, reliability, authenticity and passing on traditions.

It also means becoming part of a rich history and an iconic presence in French-speaking culture and society.

For me, a partnership is, above all, a human connection and a shared vision. It means moving forward together, with consistency and sincerity, in a world where every detail counts, where trust is essential and where the story we are writing goes beyond mere performance.
