SKATE AND CUT Exhibition

From december the 3rd of 2018 until the 30th of March 2019, the Opinel Museum invites you to discover the genesis of the biggest Opinel® sculpture in the world, through the   Skate and Cut  exhibition, which deals about the realization of the skatepark in Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne !

The giant knife of concrete and steel emerges from a skatepark equipment that looks like a volcano, and its tip peaks up to 6 meters high. Newly installed, it already attracts a constant stream of visitors.

By an immersion in this great human adventure, brought about this participatory construction, on an unprecedented scale in France, you will discover how the involvement of volunteers and enthusiasts from all areas have enabled this unique place to get off the ground.

Proud to support a local initiative, inspired by our city and the Skate and Create association, the Opinel Museum will reveal you this Savoyard history linked with skateboard. This creative sport is still little publicized, with millions of fans around the world.

This exhibition provides educational activities for children.

The Skate and Cut exhibition takes place in the new temporary exhibition gallery in the Opinel Museum.
Opening hours: open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. except on Sunday and public holiday.
