To mark the occasion of this 5th limited edition in collaboration with artists, we have created Cosmos, an edition that evokes this universal fascination and the unspoken connection between us and the stars.
To finish off our iconic No.08 pocket knife, three artists xplored the skies: Dalkhafine, Benjamin JeanJean and Asile.
This year, Atelier TUFFERY and Opinel have created the limited edition Coffret Partage.
With its two areas of expertise, this set includes an Opinel Barbecue Set containing a NO. 12 B knife, a spatula + that attaches to the handle of the knife and XL tongs, and an Atelier TUFFERY apron made from Cévennes denim and leather.
A blend of two cultures and two skills.
This limited edition of 2,100 pieces is the result of an exceptional collaboration with a Japanese master blacksmith. The Shiori No.10 features a multi-layer VG7 steel blade made in Japan by master blacksmith Nigara Hamono, a handle in buffed flamed maple, and a safety ring with a black PVD finish. A tribute to Japanese expertise.
Respect for the environment has always been part of the company's DNA.
As part of its CSR approach, Opinel wanted to take a decisive step forward by carrying out its carbon assessment with AIR coop (Annecy), a cooperative society grouping entrepreneurs for change.
All activities were examined with a fine-tooth comb to assess the impact of each stage. An "action plan" workshop was then organised to define the priority actions to be implemented.
Opinel is one of three winners of the CSR prize organised by Francéclat on 24 April in Paris! 🏆
Francéclat is the professional economic development committee that serves the watchmaking, jewellery, goldsmithery and tableware sectors.
The panel assessed the maturity, effectiveness and innovation of the finalists' sustainable development initiatives. 🌏
This is a fine acknowledgement of our contribution to a more virtuous operating model, and an invitation to continue our efforts towards more responsible production.
We are delighted to be a sponsor of the Francis Hallé Association for the primary forest, who we were lucky enough to host this year.
Its aim is to restore a primary (old growth) forest in Western Europe. Wood is an essential material in the manufacture of our knives, so we were delighted to chat to them about a range of issues relating to the environment and forests.
